The Sparrow and her Grain – Main Chabbon Ke

Once there was a bird, she went into a field to pick up food, and found one grain of gram which
she wanted to break, but when she tried to break it with a stone it got stuck in a piece of wood,
and she could not get it out.

So she went to the carpenter and said -
“Barhai ho Barhai - Khunta bheetar daal giri main chabbon ke”
“O Carpenter, my grain of food is stuck in the old log what will I eat?”

The carpenter didn’t listen so they went to the king to complain and said -
“Raja ho Raja - Khunta bheetar daal giri main chabbon ke
Darao barhai kahin, Tuhaar lage aaye hain”

The king didn’t listen so they went to the queen and said -
“Rani, ho Rani - Khunta bheetar daal giri main chabbon ke
  Badhai chirai khunta nahin,
Raja darain oke nahin, Daanto Raja Kahin, Tuhaar lage aaye hain”
“O Raja, my grain of food has fallen into the khunta what will I eat?
The king is not ordering the carpenter, scold the king I have come to you”
Now the Rani told the bird to take another grain from the royal granary but she refused saying
"Woh daana uske mehnat ki kamai thi usko wahi khaana tha"
"The grain was her hard earned meal, she would eat just that"

So the Rani shooed the bird away. Then the bird went to the mouse and said -
”Chooha, ho Chooha, Khunta bheetar daal giri main chabbon ke
Badhai chirai khoonta nahin, Raja darain oke Nahin, Rani daante Raja nahin
Kaato Kapde Rani ke, Tuhaar lage aaye hain”
O mouse, my grain is stuck in the pillar, and the king is not ordering the carpenter will it, the
queen is not scolding the king, tear up her clothes, I have come to you for help”
The mouse did not heed them, so they went to the cat and said:—
“Billi ho billi, khunta bheetar daal giri main chabbon ke
Badhai chirai khoonta nahin , Raja Darain Oke Nahin, Rani daante oke nahin.
Chooha oke kapde kate nahin. Aye tumhare lage hain, Khao chooha kahin”
My grain is stuck in a post what will I eat. The carpenter will not split it. The king will not punish
him. The queen will not scold the king, The mouse will not tear her clothes. We have come to
you to eat the mouse” But the cat paid no heed to them. Then she went to the dog and said:—
“Doggy ho Doggy, khunta bheetar daal giri main chabbon ke
Badhai chirai khoonta nahin , Raja darain oke nahin, Rani daante oke nahin
Chooha kate kapde nahin. Billi khaaye chooha nahin
Bhaiya maaro billi kahin. Tuhar pair parat hain”
“The post has eaten up the gram. The carpenter will not split it. The king will not punish him.
The queen will not scold the king, The mouse will not tear her clothes. Brother beat the cat. I
throw myself at your feet. The dog did not listen, and so she went in turn to the elephant and
said-
“Haathi ho Haathi, khunta bheetar daal giri main chabbon ke
Barhai chirai khoonta nahin. Raja darain okai nahin, Rani daante okai nahin
Chooha kate kapde nahin. Billi khaaye chooha nahin Doggy maare billi nahin,
Kuchlo Doggy kahin Tuhare pair parat hain”
the elephant did not listen, so they went to the ant. Now the ant being a small creature herself
understood the bird’s feelings and went after the elephant, the elephant feared the ant, so he
went after the dog who went after the cat, who went to kill the mouse, who ran off to tear off
the queen’s clothes, the queen then scared went to scold the king, who in turn went off to scare
the carpenter, the carpenter feared the king, and split the post which gave up the gram to the
bird who flew away happy.
